Inhibition of COX-1 enzyme may result in the formation of gastric ulcers in many human and hence the selective inhibition of COX-2 enzyme has a major advantage over nonselective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Nagod (Vitex nirgundi):

Nagod contains vitexin as one of the active elements in its leaf. It possess anti inflammatory and analgesic activity medicated through prostaglandin synthesis inhibition, antihistaminic, membrane stabilizing and reduction of oxidative stress.

Sunth (Zinziber officinalis):

Ginger root contains 10-gingerol, 12-gingerol, 8-shogaol, 10-shogaol, 6-gingerdione, 8-gingerdione, 10-gingerdione, 6-dehydro-10-gingerol, 6-paradol, and 8-paradol as an active element. Out of all these constituents 10-gingerol, 8-shogaol and 10-shogaol inhibits COX-2 enzyme without inhibiting COX-1 enzyme which is responsible for PGE2 (one of the constituent of gastric mucosa) synthesis. Therefore 10-gingerol, 8-shogaol and 10-shogaol possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of ginger.

Khrasani Ajowain (Hyoscyamus niger):

Khurasani Ajowain has been traditionally used as anti-inflammatory drug. The seed has been found effective as analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. It contains cleomiscosin A which is responsible for anti-inflammatory property of the Khurasani Ajowain. It is also having muscle relaxant activity and hence helps in reducing muscle pain.

Yastimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra):

The root of G. glabra contains glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin as an active constituent. Yastimadhu have traditionally been used as a medicine for treatment of a broad range of diseases, including inflammatory disorders, antiviral, hepatorotective, antiulcer and immune system deficiencies.

Suddh Tankan (Borax):

Borax, also known as sodium borate, is an important boron compound, a mineral, and a salt of boric acid. It is having antifungal and insecticidal activities. It reduces uric acid level and helps in reducing gout related pain also.

Dose:
